To make things easier, we’ve created a step-by-step guide to Round 1 NEET Counselling 2025, covering eligibility, process, important dates, documents, and tips to maximize your chances.
To participate in NEET-UG 2025 counselling, you must meet the following criteria:
➤ Qualify NEET-UG 2025 with minimum cut-off marks:
* General: 50th percentile
* SC/ST/OBC: 40th percentile
* PWD (General): 45th percentile
➤ Nationality: Citizen of India, NRI, OCI, PIO, or foreign national (for applicable quotas).
➤ Age & Qualification:
* Minimum age: 17 years (as on 31st Dec 2025)
* Must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotech, and English as core subjects.
➤ Documents Required: Valid NEET scorecard, ID proof, academic certificates, and other relevant documents.
The counselling process differs for All India Quota (AIQ), deemed universities, and state quotas—but the overall structure remains similar. For AIQ, MCC conducts the process.
Step-by-Step Process
1. Online Registration
➤ Visit: mcc.nic.in during the scheduled dates
➤ Register using your NEET roll number and personal details
2. Fee Payment
Pay the registration + security deposit online:
➤ General: ₹1,000 + ₹10,000
➤ Reserved: ₹500 + ₹5,000
➤ Deemed Universities: ₹5,000 + ₹2,00,000
3. Choice Filling & Locking
➤ Select colleges and courses in your order of preference
➤ Lock choices before the deadline (otherwise they auto-lock)
4. Seat Allotment
➤ MCC releases provisional and final allotment lists
➤ Allotment is based on rank, category, and preferences
5. Result Declaration
➤ Round-wise results published on the MCC portal
6. Reporting to Allotted College
➤ Report physically to the allotted college with all required documents
➤ Pay admission fees to confirm your seat

➤ Identity Proof (Aadhaar/Passport/etc.)
➤ Passport-size photographs
➤ Caste Certificate (if applicable)
➤ PwD Certificate (if applicable)
➤ Allotment Letter (downloaded from MCC portal)
➤ Free Exit (Round 1): If allotted a seat but not joined, you’ll get your security deposit refunded.
➤ Round 2 Exit: No free exit. Exiting after Round 2 may lead to loss of the refundable deposit.
➤ Choose a balanced mix of dream, moderate, and safe colleges
➤ Lock choices only after careful consideration
➤ Keep all documents ready for quick reporting
➤ Regularly track the official MCC website for updates
➤ Not satisfied with your seat? You can apply for upgrade in Round 2 (if you report and join).
➤ Didn’t get a seat? You’ll still be eligible for Round 2 and Mop-Up Rounds.
